declared Carl Raswan, who, in 1931 accompanied 
Prince Roman Sanguszko to Arabia and brought back to Poland *WITEZ II's grandsire, KUHAILAN-HAIFI (the longed-for regenerator of Arabian blood in Poland).

*WITEZ II was foaled at Janow Podlaski, in Poland. 
He was captured by the Red Army in 1939, taken by Hitler's army to sire Super Horses for cavalry in Czecheslovakia, Austria and Germany. 
He was rescued by General George S. "Blood and Guts" Patton and sent to the Remount Depot known as the Kellogg Ranch in California.
The Quarter Master's description of its equine imports had this to say of *WITEZ II: "He represents some of the finest bloodlines in Poland."
 He is a beautiful individual and of the IDEAL classical type. 
Upon War Department dispersal, he was purchased by E.E. Hurlbutt, later leased by Betts Circle 2 Arabians Ranch. 

*WITEZ II sired 225 foals 
(112 bays, 63 chestnuts, 35 greys, 5 blacks and 10 foals outside the U.S.) Shown minimally, he was the first Grand Champion at Pomona and Pacific Coast Champion Stallion in 1953.

WITEZ II son, BOLERO:
1961 U.S. Res. National Champion Stallion, two U.S. Top Tens and Top Ten in Canada - 1963, was, at the age of 2, Res. Champion Stallion at Scottsdale, Champion Stallion at 5 and Western Pleasure Champion at 15.
He sired the 1968 National Champion Stallion ZARABO.

He also sired the 1980 U.S. National Champion Open Cutting Horse and U.S. National Champion Novice Cutting Horse XENOPHONN, the number one producer of today's cutting horses.

NATEZ, (full brother to BOLERO), was twice Pacific Coast Champion Stallion, U.S. National Top Ten and sired the 1967 U.S. National Champion Mare, INDIAN GENII, who was the dam of SX GENIIS PRIDE, the 
1973 Res. National Champion Mare. 

SALVADOR, by *WITEZ II, sired the 1973 U.S. National Champion Gelding, SMITTEZ+. He was also Top Ten Western Pleasure and Pleasure Driving.

WITEZAR, Canadian Res. National Champion, was AHSA Horse for the Year in 1965.  He won 4,034 points, the greatest number for any horse, any breed, any year.

American born OFIR, was the winner of three 2 1/2 mile races at Pimlico in 1959. 

RONTEZA - World Champion Reined Cow Horse at the Cow Palace,defeated 50 horses of all other breeds.
